My Writing Journey

In 2012 and 2013 I started my journey to where I am heading. By then, I was a father but most of the help to the boy came from my family.

I worked with the electoral commission and left with around 0.5M. But again, I hadn’t touched such an amount and that meant there was a certain thrill that came with it. Within 6 months, I was dead broke. Affording a house with a rent of 3k became a problem.

Luckily, my friend and I got a job at a certain bank in late 2013. Things didn’t change as we were enemies of the seniors because we delivered beyond expectations at the loans department.

Due to pressure, we resigned and started hawking. We were ridiculed for having gone to college but we did odd jobs. Some clients would buy because we engaged them professionally.

In 2014 or thereabout, my buddy was absorbed by a certain county government. I was happy for him but I knew that I couldn’t survive hawking alone as it required us to keep motivating each other.

There was this client who we used to serve as he bought all the best tops for his wife without bargaining.

He was a writer but was not willing to disclose any information about it.

I did my research and got a headway. I even opened my first account without training or anything.

As fate would have it, I joined a certain group and met a certain guy who employed. He would format and in-text my papers. I got a footing.

Between 2013 and 2014, I cut ties with everyone. I changed my number from 0721 to 0703. I knew I needed to figure things out on my own.

I started interacting with people who I thought were successful in the field.

I joined PayPal to Mpesa business with a capital of just 40k. Just one serious client and my float would be gone.

I grew with time.

The rest is history….

My advice to anyone who is trying something in life, just know that there is a moment that you should agree that no one owes you anything but you need to keep your acts together.

I am not yet where I want to be but I will never give up.
