In this forum activity, you're going to write something like an old fashioned letter to the editor of an imaginary news site in the world of Philip K. Dick's novel--let's call it Busterfeed or MercerMedium.

That means you are writing as if you live in the world of the novel. You can be a character from the book or you can make up your own character. Just be sure to sign the letter/comment with the appropriate name!

For this piece you will need to take a position about one of the key ethical questions in the novel. Some suggestions: about Mercerism, about our relation to animals (real or fake), about androids, about humans and "chickenheads," about sexual activity between humans and androids. Or come up with an ethical problem of your own.

Here's an example I wrote up. I tried to use the voice of a newspaper opinion writer. It's written for a general audience and uses the shorter paragraphs one would expect in newspapers or in writing for online sites.
